Hi, I’m Jeremy Manners and I have recently joined RHE Global as Chief Editor of RIAMS.
Before this appointment, I worked in local government for 18 years, specialising in housing across various roles, mainly in the South West. Leaving the public sector represents a new challenge for me, but work environments change so often that I see this as another period of change and personal development. I look forward to bringing my experience to RHE and helping to develop the RIAMS platform.
I started my working life in the baking industry, for a craft baker in the Midlands. Occasionally I rekindle my passion and like to be creative in the kitchen when I have the chance, in between juggling three children and three cats. I like being outdoors, and in the slightly better weather, enjoy walking with friends, and paddleboarding and fishing with my younger children.
The new year will bring new opportunities for sure, and certainly, I've found nothing stays the same for long, whether at work or at home. So anything to make our professional lives simpler and easier is something I hope to build on in my new role. The RIAMS platform provides a specialist support network for environmental health practitioners and delivers a unique approach to equipping officers with the tools they need to be as efficient and consistent as they can be. I’ve used the platform many times during my career, and I have seen first-hand how RHE supports environmental health colleagues to undertake their roles effectively, utilising the notice templates, procedures and guidance all in one place, as well providing access to good-value training, networking opportunities and peer support through Communities.
I have joined RHE at an exciting time and I hope to contribute fresh ideas to ensure RIAMS continues to provide thorough, reliable and dynamic services to our existing and future users.
